How Books Rocked Taylor Swift's World

She's actually seeing RED. And no, she's not mad or embarrassed. She's a part of RED (Read Every Day), an initiative launched by Scholastic Publishers, to encourage global literacy.

In a live webcast, Taylor Swift spoke to millions of students about how books made her the singer she is today. She was very open and articulate as she explained how fables, fairy tales, and poetry inspired her imagination and taught her to be a stronger person.

This is us!

This year as part of our Global Classroom activities the Form1s will be quad-blogging!
We all know what blogging is, and many of us are on Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr..., but quad-blogging is really special. They'll be sharing their blogs with at least 3 other classes - from South Carolina, U.S.A., from Hawkesdale, Australia and from Athens, Greece for the whole school year.
Each week they'll be posting on various topics and commenting on each others blogs. Please feel free to click on our classes on the left and join in!

A new school year!

Unfortunately last term, I got sick, our site was blocked and it's been much too long since we last met online, but that all in the past now. It's a brand new school year and there are so many awesome new things to see and do at our library.

We must especially thank Mrs. Vivien Lambie, Mrs. Cherise Stauble, Mrs, Angelique Jones, the Aboud family and all the other mummies who gave of their time, creativity and effort to make our vision of a rejuvenated casual reading /media viewing area a reality. I know that you will really love our new space (especially the floor cushions and the bean bag) and be inspired and uplifted by the carefully chosen quotations!

Learning about Garesnica and Moslavina

Our friends at the Osnova Skola Garesnica made a movie about their school, their town, Garesnica and their region, Moslavina. Their finished product was a little too long to post, but we hope you enjoy our edited version!

Our new friends in Croatia!

Wow! We are so impressed with our new friends from Croatia! Not only did the students of the Osnova Skola Garesnica create and send us some lovely bookmarks, they took the time to make a movie and presentation about their school and country. We are very excited to learn more about this beautiful and interesting country and its people.
